No excuses. Just explanations. I haven’t been writing because it’s been the holidays. I haven’t been writing because Scout has been home from college. I haven’t been writing because I’m too busy scouring through the book Eileen got me about the 40th anniversary of The Sound of Music. I haven’t been writing because I’m learning to play Rock Band (Ben got it for Christmas). I haven’t been writing because I sang at Carnegie Hall with the NYC Gay Men’s Chorus and I had a whale of a time figuring out how to wear a cumberbun (actually now I am having a whale of a time figuring out how to SPELL cumberbun). I haven’t been writing because I’m becoming addicted to primary news coverage. I haven’t been writing because our family got a kitten for Christmas (more on that in a separate post). I haven’t been writing because I’ve been doing year end fundraising for several organizations I care alot about. I haven’t been writing because I got out of the habit. I can’t promise that it won’t happen again.
I might point out that writing daily was one of my New Year’s Resolutions and I’ve already blown it. A reader pointed this out to me when she emailed me with a certain frustration in her ‘voice.’ “The holidays are over! Where are you?”
Here I am.
Only big challenge with regard to this particular blog is that Scout and I are getting along so nicely since she’s been home over winter break from Emerson College. At least I think so. Maybe she disagrees.
Scout?
