MOMMIE DEAREST IN PARIS

I live with hilarious people. Eileen caught up on the blog last night and felt that I did not accurately represent her point of view about the hangers from Target in my post “How Many Hangers do you Need in a College Dorm Room?” This morning over coffee she wanted to set the record straight. I took notes so I could write about it after I took her to the train. “I don’t want people to think that I like wire hangers because they are FREE!” she protested. You only have to know Eileen Dearest for about 10 minutes to know that this would not be a motivating factor for her in her role in our family as Director of Acquisitions (click here to learn more about this role). In fact if you look closely at the picture above, note Scout’s bag. Definitely not free. But I digress. Eileen continued. “It’s not about price – it’s about the fact that they will take up less room in whatever thing they are going to give her that is supposed to be a closet.” I understood that all along. But Eileen was afraid readers may misunderstand.

But that is not the hilarious part. This came when Eileen read the Joan Crawford monologue about the hangers over my shoulder. “Hmmm,” she said quietly. “It’s true. Clothes do get stretched out on wire hangers.”

Assuming you actually use them. T minus 11.
